luglio 2010 Veronica Locatelli - Firenze: "Belvedere" e poi morire? Veronica Locatelli era insegnante tutor all'Università di Scienze della Formazione, artista, regista e autrice di cortometraggi e videoinstallazioni, tragicamente scomparsa al Forte Belvedere di Firenze. La sera del 15 Luglio 2008, Veronica stava camminando sul prato adiacente alla cannoniera del Forte Belvedere nella direzione del concerto che si teneva più avanti e dove l'attendevano il ragazzo e gli amici; percorsi pochi metri, si è trovata sul bordo del camminamento, circa alla stessa altezza di quello che sembrava essere un altro prato ed invece era il precipizio della cannoniera; in quel punto, il camminamento che divide il prato dalla cannoniera, è più stretto e basta un passo appena un po' più lungo per finire nel baratro; sulla sinistra vi era una transenna che, assurdamente posizionata, sembrava consigliare di proseguire verso il vuoto e davanti, ad ingannare la percezione del pericolo, tanta vegetazione che spuntava dal muro della cannoniera e che lasciava credere che quello che si trova al di là del camminamento, non fosse un baratro bensì un altro prato (prato che, in effetti, si trova qualche metro più avanti, al di là del precipizio); a rendere tutto più pericoloso il buio quasi totale e la mancanza assoluta di protezioni ed evidenti segnali di pericolo. Veronica non ha commesso alcuna imprudenza, chiunque si fosse mosso sul prato in quella direzione poteva inaspettatamente finire nel vuoto. Solo due anni prima un altro ragazzo aveva perso la vita in quello stesso punto e, nonostante questo, non era stato fatto niente per mettere in sicurezza quel settore del Forte. Come è stato possibile pensare di programmare ancora eventi, mostre, proiezioni ecc. senza aver adottato tutte le misure indispensabili per prevenire altre tragedie? Siamo sicuri che la Magistratura individuerà e punirà i colpevoli della morte di Veronica. A Veronica abbiamo dedicato il cinema mobile a sette posti CineKamper.
Veronica Locatelli was teacher tutor at Educational Sciences University, artist, director and author of short films and video installations, tragically passed away at Forte Belvedere in Florence. The evening of 15th July 2008, Veronica was walking on the meadow beside the cannoniera of Forte Belvedere in direction of the concert held little further on and where her boyfriend and friends were waiting for her; after few meters, she found herself at the edge of the camminamento, about the same height of that that could seem a different meadow and was instead the precipice of the cannoniera; there the camminamento which divides the meadow from the cannoniera, is more narrow and a step only a bit longer is enough to finish in the chasm. On the left there was a barrier that, absurdly positioned, seemed to advice to continue to the emptiness, and ahead, deceiving the perception of the danger, a lot of vegetation sprouted from the cannoniera's wall and let one believe that what was on the other side of the camminamento was a meadow and not a precipice (meadow that, in fact, is a few meters ahead the precipice); almost total darkness and absolut lack of protections made everything more dangerous. Veronica didn't make any imprudence, anyone going to the meadow in that direction could have unexpectedly end up in the precipice. Despite only two years before another guy died in that same spot nothing has been done to get security measures for that part of Forte. How is it possible to plan new events, exhibitions, screenings without adopting indispensable measures to prevent other tragedies?
