HorstFantazzini.net
is a project launched in 2005 in memory of Italian anarchist and artist
Horst Fantazzini.
He spent most of his life in prison, where he eventually died in 2001.
He was well known as the "gentle bandit", cause he used to make
bank robberies with toy guns or by bike.
Italian director Enzo Monteleone made a movie about his life in 1999,
with actor Stefano Accorsi performing Horst.
After his death, 108 artists from all over the world dedicated to him
a work, a drawing, a picture, giving life to the itinerant exhibition
"Mail Art - Bandit by Bicycle".
After months of research and collection of all material we have been able
to find about his life, we published a web site, that groups most of the
documents, articles, initiatives, books about Horst, as well as his drawings,
poems, tales, pieces of writing and other work born from his creativity.
Although most part of the web site is in Italian, you can read the biography
in English and Spanish, and enjoy the section Mail art, as well as Fantazzini's
works in section "Opere".
This project wouldn't have been realized without the support of Patrizia
"Pralina" Diamante, Horst's last mate.
